AUSTIN'S ARMY
Fighting Childhood Leukemia
Who's Austin

Austin FitzGerald is the 7 year old son of Brendon FitzGerald (son of Fitz and Tracy of Folsom) and Sandra Walberg (daughter of Dan and Sharon of Auburn).  He loves anything to do with cars and until December 2007, has always been an active and outgoing child.  When thought to have had the flu, he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).  The carefree, innocent life of this young child changed overnight.  He cannot be exposed to colds and viruses, so he is no longer allowed to attend school with his classmates and must wear a mask when he leaves the indoors.  He now has to have weekly Chemotherapy Treatments that include IV Insertion, Spinal Taps, Bone Marrow Extractions, and Blood Transfusions.  Austin's treatment will continue for at least three years.

Austin's parents do not have medical insurance and their savings have gone to his hospital stay and treatments already provided.  We have to make sure Austin is receiving the best treatment possible while allowing his parents the ability to afford medical expenses, prescription costs, rent and utilities during this trying time.
